The authorities stated that the suspension order was given for using a banned social media website on school premises.
The concerned teacher is a primary level drawing teacher, who takes classes for Standard II students. He has been suspended from the school because he was using Facebook which is banned on the school campus, school principal Runa Moitra maintained. One of he school trustees,Shubha Joshi, also made the same comment.
According to sources, the teacher followed a boy to the toilets during break-time and showed him the video clips on his mobile phone. The boys parents refused to come on record and give any details in this regard. They also declined commenting on whether or not they would take any legal action against the teacher.
While speaking to the Satellite police, the school authorities had reportedly admitted to the teacher showing the video clip to the student. However, they declined to officially register a complaint without consulting the school trustees.
