Stone pelted at train carrying people to UP for Maha Kumbh fair; probe on
Nobody was hurt in the incident, but the glass window of a coach seat cracked.

An unknown person pelted a stone at a train en route to Uttar Pradesh, near Jalgaon station in Maharashtra on Sunday evening. The passengers, who had boarded the Tapti Ganga Express from Udhna Railway Station in Surat, were travelling to Prayagraj to participate in the Maha Kumbh fair.
Following the incident, the glass window of a coach seat cracked. However, no one was hurt, the Jalgaon police said. The police have registered an offence and started a probe on the incident.
Jalgaon RPF police inspector D H Patil said, “As the train left Jalgaon Railway station, in just five minutes, somebody threw a stone at the B/6 coach berth no 39. The passengers in the coach were shocked… and they immediately intimated to the Ticket Checker (TC) Sohan Lal.”
Lal reached the berth, examined the situation, and assured the passengers of all possible help. As the train reached Bhusaval station after 25 minutes, RPF officials checked the entire coach and talked to the TC and passengers.
The TC lodged a complaint with Jalgaon RPF police station on Sunday evening. Police had registered an offence under Indian Railway Act sections 153 and 147 against an unknown person.
“There were cracks found in the glass window of Berth number 39. But nobody was injured or hurt. (Lal said) that he talked to two youths seated on the entry gate steps of the B-6 coach who had told him that they had spotted a youth of around (20 to 22 years old) pelting the stone,” said Patil.
“After the offence was registered, we arranged patrolling in the entire one-kilometre stretch area upto Shivajinagar, but found nothing suspicious. We are talking to the local people staying in nearby slum settlements to find out the suspect,” he added.
