The Vadodara office of Income-Tax Department is planning to greet the first person with a bouquet who turns up at the counter to file income returns at its Aayakar Bhavan office. The department has created special counters to facilitate filing of I-T returns for three days beginning July 29 at its Vadodara head office. The officials said several counters have been created with the aim of facilitating the filing of returns,especially for women,elderly and handicapped persons. The counters will be open from from 9.30 am onwards. We are trying to make people understand that they will have no problem in filing of I-T returns at our office,as we have made the best arrangement to make the process easy,especially for the elderly,women and handicapped persons, I-T Commissioner D S Benupani said. Around 70,000 people are expected to turn up to file I-T for salaried class in the three days beginning Monday,officials said. Last year,around 65,000 people turned up in person to file I-T returns,he said.
