At least 10 members of an “organised crime syndicate” have been booked under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime (GUJCTOC) Act, 2015, said the police. The police station was inaugurated in Gandhinagar by state police chief DGP Vikas Sahay on Friday.
According to the FIR, the organised crime syndicate has been operating across six districts of Gujarat, including Banaskantha, Mehsana, Patan, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.

“The accused persons have been known for using false registration plates and engine-chassis numbers on their vehicles and have falsified transport documents,” said the statement.
“At least 16 chargesheets and over 500 FIRs have been filed against the members of this gang in the last 10 years. Thus they have been booked under the GUJCTOC Act,” said the statement.
