In a major security breach, US fighter jets were reportedly scrambled on Sunday to intercept a civilian aircraft after it entered the restricted airspace over President Donald Trump’s golf club in New Jersey’s Bedminster, as per a local US media report.
The incident took place at about 12:50pm (local time) on Sunday, when the pilot of the civilian aircraft flew into into a temporary flight restriction (TFR) zone over Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, a statement from the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) confirmed, Fox News reported.
The civilian aircraft was then escorted out of the restricted airspace by the fighter jets of NORAD using flares in order to draw the attention of the pilot.

NORAD stated that it was the second intercept of the day, and highlighted that another aircraft had entered the temporary flight restriction zone, Fox News reported.

According to a post on X by US Air Force’s First Air Force, there have been seven TFR violations near Bedminster in New Jersey this weekend. “Pilots: There have been seven TFR violations near Bedminster, NJ this weekend. Avoid trouble – make sure to check NOTAMs before you fly to stay clear and compliant.”
In a reminder to pilots, NORAD said “A reminder to all pilots to read your NOTAMs and pay particular attention to restricted airspace.”
“General aviation pilots are reminded to verify all Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs) and Fly Informed before every flight; in the instance of the Bedminster, New Jersey region, specifically FAA NOTAMs 9839, 9840, 9841 and 9842,” NORAD stated.
