Work on six-laning of Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway to finish by December: Min

The work of six-laning of Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway is likely to be completed by December this year, Minister of State Jagdish Vishwakarma Monday informed the Gujarat Assembly. Vishwarma made these remarks while replying to a question raised by MLA from Rajkot (West) constituency Darshita Shah.
Vishwakarma said that the work on the 201.33-km long road started in 2018 at an estimated cost of Rs 3,350 crore and it is likely to be completed by December this year. The minister said that the work was delayed for two years due to Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that only four works related to the highway are pending and three of them are likely to be completed by April and the fourth one is likely to be completed by December. After the six-laning of the highway, Vishwakarma said, the travel time is expected to be reduced by 45 minutes while saving 10-15% fuel.
