An all-pervasive broadcast has been planned by the state unit of the BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat on Sunday reaches the milestone of 100 episodes. Right from civic schools to civic hospitals, central jails, mental hospitals, cooperatives under the control of the BJP, and gardens — the 100th episode will be broadcast live in all these places.

Over 100 people are expected to be present at every election booth to listen to the show, an official release by the Gujarat BJP highlighted on Saturday, as the broadcast is arranged at 50,000 booths. Various units of the ruling party are holding events at over 1,000 other locations. Additionally, the party’s Morcha units have organised 700 simultaneous events. Every MP and MLA has been asked to supervise the events – with over 1,000 persons in attendance – at their respective locations.

Over 100 events are planned in Ahmedabad, the BJP’s city unit stated Saturday. While Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will be present in Shilaj along with party workers and locals, other elected representatives and MPs from Ahmedabad will attend events in their respective locations. Union Home Minister Amil Shah will be attending an event in Gandhinagar.

In Ahmedabad, events have also been organised at the SVP Hospital, Narendra Modi Medical College LG Hospital, Sabarmati Central Jail, Central Bus Stand at Gita Mandir, as well as the civic schools of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in 12 zones in the city. Students and their parents will join BJP leaders in listening to the PM, the Ahmedabad BJP unit stated in a release.

In Vadodara, the city unit of the BJP has released a 40-point-list of preparations undertaken to broadcast Mann Ki Baat. Vadodara’s iconic Nyaymandir — which has been shut to the public since March 2018– will open its doors for the main event to be held in the presence of Bhanu Babariya, Minister of State, Women and Child Development, and Social Justice and Empowerment. Apart from this, the city unit has directed its elected representatives to organise the broadcast in all locations where elected representatives have executed development projects worth over Rs 1 lakh from the official grants, including residential colonies.

The Vadodara party unit has handed out tasks to its members as it plans to go all out with the broadcast — LED screens beaming PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat at junctions on roads, bus stands, and railway station; and sound systems inside over 125 parks, residential colonies, civic schools, SSG Hospital, and GMERS-run Gotri Medical College as well as public health centres and community health centers of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation. Additionally, the Vadodara Central Jail radio will also broadcast the show for 1,596 inmates.
The BJP unit has also approached the school for differently abled, as well as private schools, through the District Education Officer, as well as coaching classes, to ensure that students are “made to listen to the broadcast”.

A release from the Vadodara district police department also urged residents to “listen to Mann Ki Baat” on Sunday. The police stations in the district and under the city commissioner will broadcast the event. The police training centres will also hold a special event with trainees.

Office bearers of the state executive have also directed the party’s rural and district units to organise events in local schools and gather villagers to listen to PM Modi. Bharuch MP Mansukh Vasava, who was leading the inauguration of the FM radio station in Ekta Nagar (Kevadia) in Narmada district on Friday– as part of the 91 FM stations inaugurated by PM Modi virtually – will head the broadcast at Swaminarayan temple in Jambusar. “In the district areas, the party workers will organise events at the village level. The broadcast will also relay on the newly launched radio stations in the districts,” he said.
