A day after being held for violating the prohibition law,all 210 offenders were released on Saturday after a local court warned them not to repeat it.
The arrests were made on New Years Eve by the Surat police from a farmhouse at Gavier village. The farm is jointly owned by former Congress MP Jiva Patel and oil baron Nayan Shah.
While there were talks about it being a rave party,Surat DCP Subhash Trivedi later said they did not find any drug on the spot and seized only 11 liquor bottles from there.
Sources said the police had raided the farm after receiving a tip-off that a musical party was on where liquor was being served. Medical examination of those arrested was done at the New Civil Hospital before producing them in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
Advocate Hasmukh Lalwala said defending his clients,The important thing is that the police should carry out investigations in a proper way and collect evidence for conviction.
