PATIDAR LEADERS of Saurashtra on Sunday announced to launch a member-registration drive and public meetings to condole the death of Mayur Patel who succumbed to bullet injuries.
District convenors of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) in Saurashtra and Kutch held a meeting at Khanpar in Morbi district to chalk out a strategy for the future of their quota agitation. At the end of the meeting, Rajkot district PAAS convenor Lalit Vasoya announced that they had decided to launch a state-wide drive to enrol members for their outfit. Vasoya further said that they had also decided to hold public meetings in all districts of the state from Monday to condole death of Mayur Patel.
A resident of Mehsana, Mayur was injured during the quota violence in August and died in a hospital in Ahmedabad on Friday.
The district convenors also discussed ways to secure release of their jailed leaders, including Hardik Patel.
