NEET-UG case: CBI court reserves order on Dixit Patel’s bail plea
While Patel has told the court that he was "innocent", has "no antecedents whatsoever", and denied that he has committed any offence, the CBI opposed the bail plea and challenged Patel's claims.

A CBI court in Ahmedabad Wednesday reserved the order in the bail plea of Jay Jalaram Trust chairman Dixit Patel in connection with the NEET-UG malpractice case to August 20.
The special CBI court heard arguments of the CBI prosecutor as well as Patel’s advocate Sanjay Thaker before reserving the order. While Patel has told the court that he was “innocent”, has “no antecedents whatsoever”, and denied that he has committed any offence, the CBI opposed the bail plea and challenged Patel’s claims.
The CBI has told the court that Patel was “in the know” of the alleged conspiracy . The Jay Jalaram Trust conspired to “intentionally show” the location of both schools — in Parvadi in Panchmahal district and in Padal in Kheda district — run by it as ‘Godhra’ to be able to select both exam centres under their control from the National Testing Agency (NTA) list of centres, the agency said, as the co-accused school principal Purshottam Sharma was the city coordinator for NTA.
