Narendra Modi makes another goof-up

BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate termed the Statue of Liberty as the tallest statue in the world.

BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday termed the Statue of Liberty as the tallest statue in the world. The slip-up contradicts facts presented in the website statueofunity.in,set up by the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust headed by Modi. The website lists the Spring Buddha in China (153 metres) as the tallest statue in the world, followed by Ushiku Daibutsu (120 metres) in Japan at second position. At 92 metres, the Statue of Liberty is at the third place. “We have decided to make a memorial for unity: The world’s tallest statue. At present, the tallest statue in the world is the Statue of Liberty in America”,said Modi, while urging the party workers to work for iron pieces collection drive for the Statue of Unity from December 15.
