Modi considers himself above party and nation: Modhwadia

Arjun Modhwadia alleged here on Thursday that Chief Minister Narendra Modi considered himself above the party and the nation.

Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee(GPCC) president Arjun Modhwadia alleged here on Thursday that Chief Minister Narendra Modi considered himself above the party and the nation.

The Congress leader said that Modi proved it by not inviting any of the Congress leaders, including Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Shankersinh Vaghela,at the foundation laying ceremony of the Stature of Unity at Kevadia Colony.

He said that the foundation laying function was not of BJP,but of the state government and yet the Modi government ignored the Opposition leader.

“Modi’s action shows that the party is bigger than the nation,” Modhwadia said, adding,“Modi also considers himself bigger than the party.”

When asked about Modi’s allegations that Centre had always done injustice with Gujarat,he said that Modi had done injustice with his party leaders and with the state.

“Did Modi not do injustice with BJP stalwart L K Advani by pressing his candidature over Advani’s for prime minister’s post?” Modhwadia asked.

“Did Modi not do injustice with those imprisoned in jail for fulfilling his own political ambitions and doing nothing for them?” he alleged.

“Similarly, did Modi not do injustice with Keshubhai Patel,by replacing him as CM in 2001? Did he not do injustice with Kashiram Rana and Haren Pandya by denying them election tickets?” Modhwadia pointed out.
