Leopard strays into Vyara village,caught

Forest officials caught a two-and-half-year-old female leopard by trapping it in a cage on Tuesday afternoon,who had spread terror among in Vyara taluka.

Forest officials caught a two-and-half-year-old female leopard by trapping it in a cage on Tuesday afternoon,who had spread terror among in Vyara taluka. It was later released in forest,officials said

The leopard was first spotted in Panchol village on Monday morning when it attacked a woman,Jamna Kokni (40),working on the field. However,the woman managed to escape with the help of some villagers who were working on the same field.

The leopard later entered into the house of one villager,Navin Chaudhary,in the same village on Tuesday morning.

After information,the forest officials turned up and caged in the leopard. She was later freed deep into the jungles.

DFO Satish Purohit said,“These dangerous animals enter the village for food and water. Here in the sugarcane fields they can easily hide and attack domestic animals and even easily get water to drink.”
