The Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST), Gandhinagar, under the Department of Science and Technology, Gujarat, has been recognised as an Academic Institution Partner for International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQST-2025).

The United Nations has proclaimed 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. This celebration will highlight the ground-breaking advancements in quantum science, its transformative applications, and its potential to shape the future of innovation, education, and global development, according to officials.

“To chart a strategic and visionary roadmap for the celebrations, GUJCOST, in collaboration with Gujarat Science City, is organising a daylong brainstorming session on December 27 (Friday) at Gujarat Science City, Ahmedabad. This pivotal event will convene 60 esteemed scientists, educators, and science communicators from across the state to design innovative action plans and ensure effective implementation in their respective domains,” advisor and member secretary, GUJCOST, Narottam Sahoo said.

This partnership underscores our commitment to fostering innovation, cultivating scientific curiosity, and spearheading impactful outreach initiatives that will make every day in 2025 a “Quantum Day,” he added.

With the endorsement of the United Nations and coordination by UNESCO, this yearlong endeavour aims to enhance public engagement and strengthen national capacities in quantum science and technology, officials said.
