AMC watchman commits suicide
A 58-year-old employee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the office premises on Friday morning. The deceased was identified as Khimji Valera. He was working as a watchman in the Mahanagar Seva Sadan (the West Zone AMC office).

Police have lodged a case of accidental death and further investigations are on.

Fire at city hospital
A fire broke out at Samved Hospital in the Navrangpura area on Friday morning,reportedly due to a short-circuit in the UPS room,said Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation officials. Property and equipment worth Rs 30 lakh were damaged in the fire. No injury or loss of life was reported.

Dairy board draws up national plan
The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has drawn up a National Dairy Plan for 15 years,which lays a path and provides strategies to lead the second milk revolution. The NDP envisages doubling milk production by improving productivity and ensuring that the organised sectors increase their share of the marketable surplus from 30 per cent to 65 per cent,said NDDB chairperson Amrita Patel at an international conference on dairy Industry in New Delhi on Friday.
