Online admission: Technical education directorate looks to prevent glitch
AHMEDABAD: As results of Gujarat Common Entrance Test (CET) and higher secondary board exams are likely to be announced within a week, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) is taking precautionary measures to prevent any glitch during the online admission process.
The move aims to make the entire process easy for the students as well as officials involved in the exercise, according M Y Patil, the officer in charge of Admission Committee for Professional Course (ACPC),DTE.
“We are holding PowerPoint presentations across the state,so that there is no goof-up during the admission process. Last time, candidates had reported mistakes while entering passwords. Even if the password is changed by any third party, like a cyber café owner, every candidate should keep a copy of the registration form while they are applying. After their allotment is confirmed, they should take a print of the document,” said Patil.
Soon after the admission process starts,ACPC has asked the students to prioritise their preferences in category ‘1’,‘2’,‘3’ and ‘4’ so that there is no chaos. “Earlier,ACPC had the tick marking system, which caused more confusion,” he said.
Results of the Higher Secondary Class (HSC) examinations are likely to come on May 20.
