The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) of Baroda organised a felicitation ceremony to honour the teaching and non-teaching staff members retiring in June 2025 — the first since 2020 — in an event on Saturday.

Prof Dhanesh Patel, In-charge Vice-Chancellor of the University, served as the Patron of the event that saw the presence of Officiating Registrar KM Chudasama as well as other officials of the University.

In his address, in-charge Vice Chancellor Dhanesh Patel hailed each of the retiring staff members. “He expressed his gratitude for their years of dedicated service and acknowledged the vital role they played in nurturing MSU’s academic and administrative culture, taking the time to personally mention their names and highlight their individual contributions to their respective departments and the University at large,” a release from MSU said.

An open floor session at the event held at the CC Mehta Auditorium also allowed the retirees to share their thoughts and experiences. A total of 61 employees — including 20 teaching staff and 41 non-teaching staff — retired from MSU this month. “All retiring employees were especially invited to the ceremony along with their spouses, making the event not only a formal tribute but also a celebration of shared memories and institutional family bonds,” the release added.
