IIM-A considers plan for campus in Hyderabad

The Indian Institute of Management,Ahmedabad is considering a proposal made by the Andhra Pradesh government to set up a satellite campus in Hyderabad,IIM-A sources said on Sunday.

The Rajasekhara Reddy-led Congress government has offered to provide 150 acre land at token rate to set up the campus in the outskirts of the state capital.

“We have received a proposal from the AP government regarding setting up a satellite campus there. The proposal is under consideration and the board will take a final decision regarding the matter in the next meeting,” said Samir Barua,the Director of IIM-A.

He,however,refused to divulge further details. Meanwhile,IIM-A sources said a delegation of senior officials from AP visited the institute to discuss the issue recently.
