Gandhinagar-based Children’s University has been doing important work with the vision and thought of building the best human being, stated Governor Acharya Devvrat in Gandhinagar Monday. The university founded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been determined to create great human beings with Indian values and traditions, he added.

He was speaking at the 14th foundation day and fourth convocation of the university Monday.

Congratulating the graduating students, the Minister of State for Education Praful Pansheriya said the career of a teacher is not a profession, but a means of building a person with a vision. “Therefore, teachers have the most important contribution in the fiery yajna of nation building. A teacher creates an atmosphere of goodwill in the society through the development of the child’s psyche,” he said.

Earlier, there were street games that resulted in proper mental and physical development of a child, the Minister said. “Nowadays, these street games have been replaced by video games, which have a great impact on the child’s psyche. That is why, it is the responsibility of teachers along with parents to inculcate good morals in children right from childhood,” he said.

The parents need the most care because a child is a reflection of his parents, he reminded.

The Governor awarded gold medals to four students of postgraduate diploma, postgraduate and PhD from various disciplines. Apart from this, degrees were awarded to a total of 91 students from various disciplines.

In a first, Ramanlal Soni, a retired teacher from Ahmedabad, was awarded the Gijubhai Badheka Award.
