Godhra sentencing likely today,security upped

Ahead of the sentencing of 31 convicts in the 2002 Godhra train burning case slated for Tuesday,the Panchmahals police have intensified patrolling in the district with the help of four companies of the State Reserve Police (SRP).

Police officials said that even though no untoward incident has been reported so far,security has been tightened,particularly in sensitive areas. “We have already pressed into service four SRP companies at several places,including ‘border’ areas,” said a senior police officer from Godhra.
