With A view to create awareness about security management,the Vadodara police along with Mumbai-based security and crisis management consulting firm Canopy organised a seminar on counter-terrorism with a focus on public-private partnership on Wednesday.
Addressing the seminar,Major Probal DasGupta,a crisis management specialist,said,Public-private partnership and a process-driven approach are effective vehicles to pre-empt and prevent terror strikes.
According to the consulting firm,training and processes will help nip terror threats in their buds. Anup Patel,marketing director of Canopy,said that gadgets and cameras can only help do postmortem if they are not used in conjunction with trained drills and well documented processes.
The speakers emphasised on a process-driven approach as the core of addressing the issue. A documentary film on the events of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai was screened at the seminar,which was attended by Vadodara Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana among others.
