Despite registering Sarvaiya’s complaint,Panday, the then DySP of Junagadh, beat up Sarvaiya and forcibly made him drink alcohol. Panday then arrested him under the provision of the prohibition law. A local court later acquitted Sarvaiya in the prohibition case.

Later,Sarvaiya filed a complaint with the local court against Panday and fought a legal battle on his own without taking any help from any lawyers. The Chief Judicial Court at Junagadh delivered the verdict on Thursday and declared Panday guilty. The court, however, granted him bail and gave him 20 days to appeal before the higher court.

Sarvaiya told Newsline: “The battle is not over yet,but

I am satisfied with the judgment. Panday should, however,be given a more strict punishment. I will myself represent the case in the upper court.”
