Former Congress MLA Gyasuddin Shaikh Sunday complained against the hike in charges for Haj pilgrims from Gujarat saying despite a shorter distance from Ahmedabad as compared to Mumbai, the charges are nearly Rs 70,000 higher this year.
In a series of tweets, the former Dariyapur MLA sought “justice” for Haj pilgrims from the state and requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to look into the “injustice”. Apart from Modi and Shah, he also tagged Minister of Minority Affairs Smriti Irani along with the Haj Committee in the tweets.
