As per the Congress,Chief Minister Narendra Modi is neglecting the state in anticipation of becoming the prime minister. The state, reeling under excessive rains,is staring at large-scale damage to life and property. The Congress has criticised Modi for ignoring Gujarat and addressing rallies elsewhere. This has put the BJP and the state government in action mode. The BJP has slammed Congress leaders and termed them as people surviving on statements. The party has also criticised the Congress for making an issue out of the Chief Ministers absence. So what if Modi is not around, its thanks to his in absentia guidance to bureaucrats that Gujarat has been saved of a great calamity, is what the BJP has said in defence of the CM.
Wrong address
There was a big commotion recently outside the house of a Behrampura councillor who lives in Danilimda Ward. With a crowd of women shouting slogans, the man decided to remain indoors. At last, his servant came out and told the crowd that since he did not represent their ward,he was helpless in addressing their problem draining out rain water accumulated overnight. The crowd was told that their representative lived across the road. The crowd dispersed within minutes after hearing that as no one reportedly dared to knock the door of their representative.
In lighter vein
Courts mostly deal with serious issues and court rooms reflect this seriousness. However, the High Court recently experienced some lighter moments. Two senior lawyers were having heated arguments over a demand for a short adjournment by one of them. The judge hearing the matter intervened and in a lighter vein asked them not to engage in a hot argument when the atmosphere was wet. One of the lawyers laughed and replied that it was a perfect time to have dalwada. The arguments ended there and a short adjournment was granted.
