Cops injured as recovered gun goes off in Dahod

Two police officials including a deputy sub-inspector were injured when a country-made gun recovered from tribals in Khajuria village in Dahod on Saturday went off while checking if it contained a magazine.

Two police officials including a deputy sub-inspector were injured when a country-made gun recovered from tribals in Khajuria village in Dahod on Saturday went off while checking if it contained a magazine.

Police recovered a country-made gun and a mauser from the village where two tribal clans,Palas and Ninama,were fighting over a land.

After getting information about the fight,Dahod deputy sub-inspector Pradeep Sarang rushed to the spot with a police force to control it.

While trying to dissipate a crowd of nearly 200 tribals,they recovered two weapons. “We found two guns. When we were checking the gun for a magazine,it went off injuring an assistant sub-inspector and myself,” Sarang,who sustained injuries in his left arm,said.
