The Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority’s  (RERA) November 28 order asking all construction sites to put up boards informing people about the kind of project being undertaken at the site came into effect on Monday.

These details include RERA registration number, details of construction, project specifications, amenity details, RERA collection bank account, and project loan so that prospective buyers can easily avail of this information.

The order says earlier only RERA registration numbers were put on these boards and that prospective buyers had to seek details on the authority’s website. “It was noted that people did not know where they could get additional information,” said the order.

Under this new order, builders have to put all these details on a board, banner, hoarding or digital display two metres in length and 1.2 metres in width, which will be placed at the entrance of the project at a height of 1.5 to 2 metres, made of waterproof material and with a background colour of white or yellow. The lettering must be at least 2.5 centimetres. The QR code on the board must be 15 by 15 centimetres.

The Indian Express attempted to reach out to RERA Special Secretary AJ Desai but he was unavailable for comment.
