Cong to hold classes for its MLAs on July 22-24

Experts from Indian Institutes of Management and political scientists from prominent universities will deliver lectures to Congress MLAs at a three-day workshop beginning July 22 to educate them about how to improve their performances within and outside the state Assembly.

State Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said the party had hired Delhi-based PRS Legislative Research Centre for the workshop. The body has conducted extensive research on debates and discussions in state Assemblies and Parliament.

The legislators would be given lectures on how to make the best use of their time in the Assembly,how to effectively participate in discussions and debates,how to make the best use of their discretionary funds as also on various issues like budget analysis,land acquisition laws and its implementation,flagship programmes of the Congress led-UPA government at the Centre,like NREGS and the RTI Act.

Among the politicians,Union Surface Transport Minister C P Joshi will address the workshop.
