Collector terminates 3 for long absence from work

In an ongoing drive to crack down on employees who have remained absent from work for long periods, the Vadodara District Collector recently ordered the termination of three staffers, including two Talatis and a clerk, attached to different departments of the district administration.

Following an inquiry against the three employees, District Collector Bijal Shah and Resident Additional Collector BS Prajapati decided to terminate a clerk from Karjan and two revenue Talatis from their positions.

The three employees have been identified as Hiren Kodiya, a clerk with the Karjan Mamlatdar office, Revenue Talati Vijay Maheriya from Desar Mamlatdar Office, and Bhavika Parmar, another revenue Talati of the district administration.

Prajapati said, “The inquiry was initiated when it came to light that these three employees had remained absent for long periods, up to four years. As per the process, they were served notices  to explain their absence and dismissed at the end of the inquiry.”

Officials said while Kodiya and Maheriya were terminated after inquiry report termed their response “unsatisfactory”, Parmar remained unresponsive to  notices issued by the District Collector and was terminated.
