CM Bhupendra Patel in Japan to promote next year’s Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

Under Patel's leadership, the delegation will hold one-on-one meetings with leading industrialists and governors of different provinces in Japan for the promotion of the summit. The state will also organise a roadshow for the purpose.

CM Bhupendra Patel in Japan to promote next year’s Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with and a delegation of bureaucrats and industry representatives, reached Japan on Sunday, beginning his seven-day tour of Japan and Singapore to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.
Patel was received by India’s Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, at Narita airport in Tokyo.

After his arrival, Patel met Governor of Yamanashi, Kotaro Nagasaki, and discussed investment potential in the green hydrogen sector in Gujarat with officials of Yamanashi Hydrogen Company. Accompanied by Nagasaki, the CM and the delegation also inspected the company’s plant.

An official statement said, “Yamanashi Hydrogen Company conducted a demonstration of the processes related to the supply, selling, and servicing of green hydrogen…It expressed enthusiasm to participate in the upcoming Vibrant summit in the field of green hydrogen, along with other initiatives.”

“Governor of Yamanashi, while extending a warm welcome, anticipated that this meeting with CM Bhupendra Patel and the Gujarat delegation would further strengthen bilateral relations, fostering expectations for robust two-way collaborations. He gave a detailed presentation to the delegation on the new initiatives adopted by Japan in the green hydrogen sector,” it added.

Patel also gave details of the initiatives taken by India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, such as National Green Hydrogen Mission, National Electric Mobility Mission Plan, and net zero carbon emission target by 2070. Gujarat is also moving ahead in the direction of achieving goals of green clean energy, he added.
According to the statement, Patel invited Nagasaki to join the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January and create new opportunities in the renewable energy and green hydrogen sectors. Later, Patel met the Indian diaspora at a get-together in Tokyo.

Ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit on January 10 and 12, the high-level delegation from Gujarat is visiting Japan and Singapore till December 2. The biennial summit serves as a platform for businesses and governments to explore investment opportunities and establish partnerships.
