CISF sub-inspector on duty found dead in washroom of Surat airport
The body of Kishansingh Malsingh Kanwar, 32, a native of Jaipur, was taken to hospital for post-mortem.

A sub-inspector of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) posted at Surat airport allegedly died by suicide in the airport’s washroom on Saturday afternoon. The police have registered a complaint of accidental death and launched a probe.
Surat City police identified the deceased as Kishansingh Malsingh Kanwar, 32, a native of Jaipur in Rajasthan. Officers said he joined duty at 1 pm at the airport’s D-1 gate. Later he asked a colleague to stand at the gate so he could use the toilet.
When he failed to return, the officer called him on the phone but Kanwar did not respond. The officer then went to the washroom and found him lying dead on the floor, said Surat police.
Dumas Police Inspector N V Bharvad, who is in-charge of Surat airport, reached the spot after being intimated by CISF officials. The police took Kanwar’s body to New Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
“The reason behind his drastic step is not known yet. We have intimated his family in Jaipur. We are coordinating with CISF officials to get more details about him. Kanwar was posted in Surat in February 2022 and he had been with the CISF since 2015. We checked his service revolver and found one round missing. We are talking to his colleagues as well,” the inspector said.
