CEPT varsity to get online store

Three planning students from CEPT University have flagged off its first-ever virtual store that will showcase and sell students’ work from next week

Three planning students from CEPT University have flagged off its first-ever virtual store that will showcase and sell students’ work from next week. Started by three second year planning students — Manu Pathak,Aamir Ansari and Shaurya Patel — the design start-up,called http://www.theceptstore.com,will sell exclusively what students at CEPT university will make.

Starting with T-shirts,the store plans to monetise the venture by adding a “cash on delivery” option for users in the coming months. From architectural plans or models made by students for their course to presentations made as part of their curriculum, everything will be put up on the online store. “Initially,we will sell T-shirts designed by CEPT students and screen painted for Rs 600 at the online store. We plan to add more products, presentations, paintings, sketches, architecture models and accessories. We plan to make it a self-sustaining model whereby we will give users a login ID and a password through which they can register and buy more products. In a way,we will be showcasing our creativity through this online store,” says Manu Pathak,a second-year undergraduate student of B Plan course.

The University, however, plans to open a physical store at the campus that will keep memorabilia and other products created by students. “It is an initiative to increase the outreach of creative things made by students. The CEPT university has a lot of electives like ceramics, pottery, painting, sketching which have been opened up across different streams as part of their courses that students can opt for. Currently, the website is being developed and from a virtual space we will be creating a physical space by the year-end,” said Sejal Patel, assistant professor at the Faculty of Planning and Public Policy.
