The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday began the probe in the Tulsiram Prajapati encounter of 2006 from the CBI office in Old Sachivalaya in Gandhinagar. A CBI team led by Joint Director P Kandswamy arrived in Gandhinagar along with other officials from the agency. CBI sources said the team has begun scrutiny of the probe papers handed over to it by the state (CID) Crime,which was previously investigating the case. CBI had filed a fresh FIR in the case in Mumbai on April 29 against Gujarat and Rajasthan Police officers and others for criminal conspiracy,wrongful restraint,wrongful confinement,abduction and murder of Tulsi Prajapati,and disappearance of evidence.
