Two arrested with country-made pistols
Vadodara:Two persons were arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) sleuths in Vadodara for possessing two country-made pistols and 20 live cartridges,after police raided their residences later Wednesday night. One of the arrested is a history-sheeter,police said. During preliminary investigation it was revealed that one of the suspect,Indrajeet Parmar,originally from New Delhi but was living at Pratapnagar in Vadodara,had brought the pistol from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Police said they were trying to find out the source from where the second suspect,Rajkumar Singh,obtained the pistol and cartridges. Singh is a resident of Maneja in Vadodara.
An FIR was lodged against the two at city’s Makarpura police station under sections 25 (1-B) and sections 29 of the Arms Act,and section 135 of GP Act.
Slab falls,kills two labourers
Vadodara:Two construction labourers were killed when the slab of a duplex under renovation fell on them in Vadodara on Thursday. The deceased were hired as daily labourers to work at the house situated at Shakti Society in Old Padra Road,along with six others. The house had been under renovation for the last 15 days,its owner said.
