The fourth edition of the Ahmedabad National Book Fair organised by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) kicked off on the Gujarat Day at Gujarat University convention centre here on Friday. The book fair was inaugurated by Health Minister Shankar Chaudhary.
On the inauguration day, books on Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued to rule. Publishers from both Gujarat and other states showcased books on him at their stalls while a few even had a devoted corner for his books.
“This time, we have the largest collection of titles on Narendra Modi where over a dozen books are up for sale. It covers biographies, book on his pictures from his political career in Gujarat till Delhi and even books specially designed for children,” said Ronak Shah from Ahmedabad-based Navbharat publishers.

“We participate each year and make sure to get along all the latest books on Narendra Modi,” said Ramjit Yadav from Prabhat Prakashan.
Though the number of stalls has been reduced this year, it has been taken over by various interactive session activities, including ‘meet the author’ with some of the popular writers and columnists, Hindi hasya kavi sammelan, sugam sangeet, laughter evening, youth literary talk sessions, among others.
