The body of a Junagadh-based fisherman,who died at a Karachi hospital over a month ago,will be flown to Mumbai on Monday. The body of Rambhai Kanabhai Vala is expected to reach his native Tad village in Una taluka on Tuesday.
Vala was arrested by the Pakistan marine authorities from the Arabian Sea on November 18 last year along with seven other fishermen.
According to his family,Vala fell ill and died at the Karachi Civil Hospital on May 28.
We had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh early this month when we did not receive the body even after a month had passed (since his death), said Valss son Devsi.
P L Darbar,Commissioner of Fisheries,said,Our team and family members of the deceased are leaving for Mumbai today. They will receive the body and take it to Tad village.
