Bhavnagar Collector Parekh appointed OSD to CM Bhupendra Patel
The transfer comes only days after the Gujarat government effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle by transferring more than 100 IAS officers.

DK Parekh, the district collector of Bhavnagar, has been transferred and appointed as officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the General Administration Department (GAD) of the state government stated Thursday. Parekh will replace N N Dave in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) who was recently transferred.
According to a GAD notification, RK Mehta, Director of Information at Gandhinagar, will replace Parekh as Bhavnagar collector.
Recently, Hitesh Pandya, additional PRO to the CM, had resigned following controversy over his son Amit’s links with Kiran Patel, who was arrested by the Jammu & Kashmir Police for posing as an official to the Prime Minister’s Office. After Pandya’s resignation, this is the second important DEVELOPMENT in the CMO.
According to the CMO website, with Parekh’s appointment, the CMO—headed by Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, K Kailashnathan—has 26 officials. ThE team includes two advisors—Hasmukh Adhia and S S Rathore, additional chief secretary Pankaj Joshi, secretary Avantika Singh, eight OSDs, one additional secretary, two joint secretaries, three deputy secretaries, four under secretaries, a deputy collector, a personal assistant to the CM and two deputy directors of information.
