Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused have circulated fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 50,000 in Gondal and Rajkot in the last four days.

Police said they came to Rajkot on May 1 with fake note to the face value of Rs 1.5 lakh and took a one-room house on rent in the Khodhiyarpara area.

To circulate fake notes, they would make purchase of Rs 100 or 200 and give notes of Rs 500 or Rs 1,000. The genuine notes that they obtained in exchange were deposited in their bank accounts, said the police, adding that process was on to get their remand.
