NHAI announces temporary toll tax exemption on Sanchor-Santalpur stretch of Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway
The temporary waiver came into effect from 8 am on Tuesday. The announcement was made through an official release, as per which, the waiver will stay in force till the said repair work is completed.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Tuesday announced temporary exemption on toll tax on a 28.71-km stretch on the Sanchor-Santalpur section of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway owing to ongoing repair work in the area. The expressway is part of the Bharatmala project.
The temporary waiver came into effect from 8 am on Tuesday. The announcement was made through an official release, as per which, the waiver will stay in force till the said repair work is completed.
The 125-km stretch of the expressway between Sanchor of Rajasthan and Santalpur of Gujarat’s Patan district is a very important economic corridor.
Meanwhile, during a meeting held to review road and bridge repair works in the state on Tuesday, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel instructed NHAI officials to expedite repairs on national highways. NHAI officials said that such repair works are expected to be completed by July 30, as per an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office.
NHAI member Ventkatraman had on Sunday conducted an inspection of the highway near Santalpur after a 1.35-km-long stretch of it got damaged following spells of rain. Samples of the damaged road were collected and Venkatraman had said that if any deficiency was found, then legal actions will be taken against the contractor.
