An Amreli-based RTI activist on Wednesday wrote a letter to Governor Kamla Beniwal, seeking her permission to register a case of corruption against state Agriculture and Co-operative Minister Dilip Sanghani.

In the letter,Nathala Sukhadiya alleged that Sanghani has exploited his position and power to favour his family members in violation of ministerial oath.

Sukhadiya has requested Beniwal to allow filing a case of disproportionate assets and corruption against the Amreli MLA,claiming he has proofs, collected through RTI queries,to prove his charges.

Sukhadiya has also filed a court complaint of assault and conspiracy against the minister after he was attacked by some people last month. He claimed the attack was conspired by Sanghani for exposing a Rs 500-crore scam allegedly involving the minister.

Sanghani,on the other hand, has maintained that Sukhadiya’s charges are baseless and levelled at the behest of Babra Congress MLA Bavku Unghad.
