An activist has been booked for an alleged hate speech and around 75 people have been detained after a clash broke out in Una on the day of Ram Navami, police said on Sunday.

Gir Somnath Superintendent of Police incharge Sripal Sheshma said, “Two FIRs were filed at the Una police station against Kajal Hindustani, who allegedly gave the hate speech on Ram Navami, and those from both the groups allegedly involved in the clash. Hindustani was not found at her residence and we are yet to detain her.”

The FIR against around 75 people was filed on Saturday, while the one against Hindustani was filed on Sunday. All the alleged rioters belong to Una.

The Una police said that provoked by the hate speech delivered by Kajal Shingala alias Kajal Hindustani, who identifies herself as a social activist, at a public meeting after the Ram Navami procession was taken out, a clash broke out between two groups near the fish market in Kumbharwada area of Una.

Two groups resorted to stone pelting at each other. The police were outnumbered following which more force was called in , and eventually the crowd dispersed. According to the police, 200 people, who had gathered after the meeting held by Hindustani, were involved in the clash.
