6 suspects held in triple murder case

The LCB arrested Chandubhai alias Raju Vaghri,Maheshbhai alias Babu Chunara,Chatur Keshubhai alias Babu Chunara,Geetla Keshubhai,Devraj Keshubhai,Keshubhai alias Babubhai Hemabhai Vaghri. The six accused have been arrested under eight dreadful crimes including rape of a tribal girl.

The police were on the lookout for these people in the triple murder case in Nadiad. The gang of Devipujak community had entered a house in Navneet Society on the College Road near Vaniavad in Nadiad around 4 am on April 20,2007 by breaking open the grill of the house.

The gang ransacked the house and killed three elderly people by hitting them a blunt object in the head. Those who were murdered include Rajni Parikh (65),his wife Deepaben (60) and his mother Shardaben Parikh (84).

The Police had suspected the family knew the persons and they were killed because the gang member feared getting caught. The incident came to light when a milkman entered the house around 5.30 am. He raised alarm and the neighbours informed the police.

LCB PI,Vijay Jadeja,said,“This gang is also wanted in some other cases in Panchmahals,Sabarkantha,Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Some (members of the gang) are still at large but they will soon be caught.” Police has sought remand in the court to question about their involvement in other cases.

Other cases in which the gang was involved:

* 18-19 April 2009: 2 mobile phones,gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 5,300 looted at Kapadvanj Na Muvada

* June 2008 : Robbed a man of gold jewellery,mobile phone worth Rs 11,500 at Veerpur Dhori Dungri

* 17 August 2008: Gold jewellery,mobile phone,camera and cash worth Rs 1,37,000 looted at Veerpur Kasoti Road Rape of a girl in Mehmedabad about five years back
