‘Devoted 12 hours for studies’: Ahmedabad’s Akshay Ramesh Jain emerges CA topper

Akshay Ramesh Jain from Ahmedabad emerged as the topper of the CA final examinations with a score of 616 out of 800 marks, which comes to 77 per cent.

Jain also topped the 2019 CA intermediate exams with 87 per cent.

Attributing his success to regular studies, Jain says he devoted 12 hours to studying and practising questions through mock tests that helped him achieve this feat, both in intermediate and final exams.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Wednesday announced the results of the CA finals and CA Inter.

In Both Groups, the national pass percentage of the examination was 8.33 as only 2,152 cleared the test out of the total 25,841 candidates. From Ahmedabad, this was 9.83 per cent.

With the declaration of results, a total of 13,430 candidates qualified as Chartered Accountants. The CA final examination was held across 477 centres in May.

In Group I out of 57,067 candidates 6,795 cleared while in Group II out of 61,844 candidates who appeared 19,438 cleared, thus recording the highest pass percentage of 31.43 per cent. The same for Ahmedabad centre was 11.35 per cent and 33.12 per cent – Group I and Group II.
