The trial in the 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts case began before a special designated court inside the Sabarmati Central Jail on Monday. After the examination of a complainant in the case,the trial was adjourned till July 12.
The then police inspector of Shahibaug,JN Parmar,who is the complainant in the civil hospital trauma center blast case where 33 people were killed and about 76 injured,was examined by the court.
However,his deposition could not be completed on the first day. Parmar is now an assistant commissioner of police.
According to public prosecutor HM Dhruv,the deposition could not be completed as there were no original documents available.
The trial is taking place before additional principal sessions judge Jyotsana Yagnik and four prosecution lawyers.
There were 35 different FIRs in the case in which a total of 68 are accused. Out of them,24 are still absconding. As many as 57 people were killed in the terror strike in the city on July 26,2008.
