A rescued Indian Rock Python was released in the protected area of Kansal forest on Saturday. The snake was rescued from Mubarikpur village near Dera Bassi three days ago by the rescue team of Chhatbir Zoo and Wildlife department of Punjab.
Zoo officials informed that the adult python is around 12 feet long and 35 kg weight. After rescuing, the snake was kept under observation at wildlife hospital of Chhatbir Zoo. A team was constituted by PCCF(wildlife) to release this reptile in the suitable habitat. After certified by the senior veterinary officer the snake was found in sound health and fit to be released into the wild.
