Gold Silver Rates Today (November 6): Gold prices slipped slightly on Monday due to a slight uptick in US bond yields, ahead of a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell later this week for more clarity on the interest rate outlook.
In India, rates of 24-carat gold slipped by Rs 170 per 10 grams to Rs 61,470. The price of 22-carat gold fell by Rs 150 per 10 gram to Rs 56,350.
In Chennai, 24 carat gold per 10 grams was trading at Rs 62,180; in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore, at Rs 61,470; and in Delhi at Rs 61,790.
Spot gold was down 0.4 per cent at $1,983.49 per ounce by 0444 GMT after rising above the key $2,000 level on Friday. US gold futures fell 0.4 per cent to $1,990.60.
SPDR Gold Trust — the world’s largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund — said its holdings rose 0.20 per cent to 863.24 tonnes on Friday.
Meanwhile, silver rates jumped today by Rs 200 per kg to Rs 75,200. In Chennai and Hyderabad, the precious metal was trading at Rs 78,200/kg; in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, it was trading at Rs 75,200; and in Bangalore, silver was selling at Rs 74,000/kg.
Spot silver eased 0.2 per cent to $23.14 per ounce.
