Base metals remain weak on sluggish demand

Base metals prices continued to slide for the third day by falling Rs 2 per kg in the wholesale non-ferrous metal market.

Base metals prices continued to slide for the third day by falling Rs 2 per kg in the wholesale non-ferrous metal market today on sluggish industrial demand.

Traders said sluggish industrial demand and reports of a weak global trend mainly kept pressure on base metals.

In the national capital,copper mixed,lead ingot and lead imported remained under selling pressure and declined by Rs 2 each to Rs 395,Rs 128 and Rs 126 per kg,respectively.

Zinc ingot and nickel (4×4) were also enquired lower by the same margin to Rs 106- 10 and Rs 1,026-1,029 per kg.

The following are metal rates per kg:

Zinc ingot 106-110,nickel plate (4×4) 1,026-1,029,gun metal scrap 227,bell metal scrap 229,copper mixed scrap 395,chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 128,lead imported 126,aluminium ingots 129,sheet cutting 130,aluminium wire scrap 136 and aluminium utensils scrap 129.
