Renault to launch MUV Lodgy on 9th April

The Lodgy offers longer wheelbase than the Innova which in turn translates into better space inside the car.

Renault will launch its Lodgy on 9th April. The car is expected to carry a price tag from around Rs. 9 lakh and will go on to Rs. 13 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Lodgy will be slated against the Innova, which has retained the top spot since ages now. The ever popular MUV segment has seen a lot of launches lately and the new car may help Renault to recreate the success it had created with the Duster.

The Lodgy offers longer wheelbase than the Innova which in turn translates into better space inside the car. The Lodgy will be offered only with a diesel engine and can be configured in 7 or 8 seating option.

Powering the Lodgy will be a smaller 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel unit that develops 110PS at 3,900 rpm and 245 Nm at 2,250 rpm. The engine gets a manual six-speed transmission with an ARAI figure of 19.98 km/l.

The same engine will be also tuned in 85 PS output, which will have an ARAI figure of 21.04 km/l.

The Lodgy is based on the same platform on which Duster is built, hence, the driving dynamics are incredible and Renault also offers host of features with the Lodgy to keep it up to date with the market. The Innova on the other hand has been around since ages and nothing has changed in the car except few exterior modifications.

The Lodgy will surely put Innova in a fix and will hamper the sales of the segment leader.
