Robin Uthappa

Robin Uthappa has often been described as the "unluckiest" of cricketers for India. At one point, the Karnataka batsman was regarded as one of the top picks to be selected as the opening batsman for India. His performance during the 2007 T20 World Cup, saw him rising through the ranks. His innovative style of batting and his impressive strike rate saw him becoming a regular for India. But the success lasted for a short time, and with Virat Kohli's rise, and Uthappa's inconsistent performances, he was sidelined. The wicketkeeper-batsman, though continued to perform his best in the domestic cricket, and carried on the form in IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders. In 2014, he won the orange cap for scoring highest runs in the tournament - 660 runs in 14 matches. His consistency saw him returning to the side against Bangladesh next year. In 46 ODIs for the country, he has scored 934 runs at an average of 25.94.
