Pritam Munde biography

Pritam Gopinath Munde is a political leader from Maharastra and a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. She is a former member of the parliament of Maharastra’s Beed Lok Sabha constituency. She was born on February 17, 1984, in Beed, Maharashtra.

She comes from a long list of strong political family members, with her parents being former Cabinet Minister Late Gopinath Munde and Pradnya Munde. She has a younger sister named Yashashari and an elder sister named Pankaja Munde. She is Rahul and Poonam Mahajan's cousin, as well as Pramod Mahajan's niece. Her cousin is Dhananjay Munde, the leader of the NCP.

She holds an M.D. in Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy from Pad. Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. Her educational background as a medical practitioner has equipped her with valuable insights that she brings to her political endeavours.

After the death of her father on June 3, 2014, she contested in the 2014 Beed by-election, the constituency held by her father earlier. Her first political campaign was nothing short of remarkable, as she won with an unprecedented margin of 692245 votes. After topping her closest opponent by 168368 votes, she retained her seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

In 2023, Pritam Munde made headlines by becoming the first BJP leader to support protesting women wrestlers who alleged sexual harassment by a prominent figure in wrestling.

Notably, the BJP dropped her from their 2024 Lok Sabha election candidates list and fielded Pankaja Munde from her seat.
