The Bombay High Court noted that the petitioner had earlier filed a similar plea which was disposed of in 2022 on grounds of delay, since it was filed nearly a decade after the Lavasa project commenced.

The second phase covers elections to 24 municipal councils and nagar panchayats, along with 154 wards in 76 other local bodies. These polls were earlier scheduled for December 2, but the Maharashtra State Election Commission had postponed the voting following appeals in district courts against decisions taken by returning officers.
